Hardware for scripts

If you want to run midi ox portably you will probably want a cheap windows tablet with a powered usb hub. Attaching usb devices to the cheap windows tablets you can get from China, normally result in the battery draining quicker than it can charge. A powered usb hub solves this and allows the tablet to run as a midi peripheral from the mains.

SendMidi and ReceiveMidi run perfectly and headless on any sort of Raspberry Pi.

A Bomebox is a solid choice for trickier use cases. It is a little pricey but so useful.

Midi Solutions event processors are a little more limited in capability, but have the advantage of being powered by the midi line.

A PI running headlessly with SendMIDI > ReceiveMIDI is a good budget alternative to a BomeBox.
