Beta: test with care. Main controls, virtual-module parameters, module add/replace/clear, and Patch Bay routing now send immediately over MIDI SysEx. Structural and routing changes require a complete Read first so the editor is working from the hardware’s captured connection matrix.
Browser: requires Web MIDI with SysEx access. Enable MIDI, choose the AIRA MODULAR input/output if needed, then use Read to capture the unit's internal state.
Readback: the hardware reports its internal software/DSP parameter state. It does not report the physical GRF potentiometer positions.
Experimental MIDI mapping: MIDI CC mapping is an additional feature not provided by Roland’s original AIRA Modular Customizer. It converts incoming MIDI CC messages into the same AIRA SysEx parameter-change messages used when controls are adjusted in the original software. Testing so far has shown normal operation, but this feature has not been validated by Roland and every controller, message rate, firmware or hardware combination has not been tested. Use at your own risk, particularly with automated or very high-rate MIDI data. Repeated identical mapped values are ignored. MIDI rate limiting is enabled by default (about 40 updates per second per mapped parameter) and can be disabled in Settings if you deliberately want every changed CC value sent immediately.
Patch librarian: saves only the 10 main panel parameters in this browser.
Full Environment: .efxenv files contain the 10 main parameters, six virtual-module slots and parameters, and the complete 22 × 34 connection matrix.
Editor State: .efxstate backs up patch libraries and MIDI mappings for all four AIRA EFX devices, editor preferences, and the currently captured full hardware environment for the currently selected EFX device only. Hardware environments for the other EFX devices are not included. Select and Read the device whose environment you want included before exporting. Restoring an editor state does not automatically send it to the hardware; after restore, a separate button lets you send its captured environment deliberately.
File formats: .efxenv and .efxstate are readable JSON-based formats. You are free to inspect, back up and share your own state files.
Works offline: after downloading this HTML file, the editor runs locally and does not require an internet connection. Web MIDI access still depends on a compatible browser and the connected AIRA EFX hardware.
