Model:Cycles Random 16-Step LFO Slide Recorder

Configure the target Cycles track manually: square LFO, destination pitch, reset on, and a negative fade amount suited to the tempo (for example -24). The page sends LFO Speed 0 (CC102 = 64) before playback and recording. On the Model:Cycles, also enable Settings → MIDI → Sync → CLK IN before recording. Don’t worry about timing: the page automatically restarts the sequence and stops it when the transfer has finished. Record to Cycles uses a deliberately slow print clock so note lengths are easier for the hardware recorder to distinguish. Enter unquantised live record before using Record to Cycles.

1. MIDI and timing

MIDI has not been enabled yet.

2. Random pattern generator

Allowed pitch classes:

Random pitch is applied only to active steps. Slides target the next active note. Short articulations use the Short articulation decay slider and a 10% gate in both preview and Slow Print to Cycles. Normal notes use the Normal decay and Gate controls above. Muted rests always send Decay 0. An inactive step is a rest. Its separate Mute decay checkbox optionally sends Decay 0 without a note.

3. Pattern

Each active step sends LFO depth first, then its MIDI note. Tick Slide to next note to calculate the interval automatically from the next active step, wrapping from step 16 back to step 1. Unticked steps send DEP 0.0.
